Whether you are a smoker, coffee drinker, or just want to whiten your teeth these remedies will help. Everyone has seen the dozens of products out there that advertise to whiten your teeth. But many of them are expensive, and have received less than stellar reviews from those that have tried them.

Here are some alternative ways to whiten your teeth at home:

#1. Whiten your teeth using “Grandma’s home remedy”.

This has been around for a while, and many people still swear by it.

Mix 1 tsp of baking soda, with a dash of salt and a few drops of vinegar. The mixture should foam up a little, and you are ready to brush your teeth with it. Follow this up by brushing with your regular toothpaste.

#2. Whiten your teeth using Strawberries.

This one surprised me, but everyone I talked to and everywhere I read, only said good things about this technique. By rubbing the strawberry, whole or mashed, onto your teeth, it will whiten your teeth. This teeth whitening home remedy was apparently showcased on the Tyra Banks show, and it has since become a favorite trick of hers.

Personally, because of the sugar content in strawberries, I would follow this technique up with a brushing with your regular toothpaste.

3. Whiten your teeth using Peroxide and Baking soda.

Mix baking soda into a mixture of 1/2 hydrogen peroxide and 1/2 water. Brush your teeth with this. There is no need to follow up with your regular toothpaste.

The trick here is the peroxide. While many claim that hydrogen peroxide is bad for your teeth, you will notice in many toothpaste ingredients, and almost all teeth whitening products on the market, the main ingredient is peroxide.

#4. Whiten your teeth using Orange peels.

Many swear by this technique as well, but again, like with the strawberries, I recommend brushing your teeth afterwords. Also, note it is the inside of the orange peel that has the teeth whitening qualities.

#5. Whiten your teeth using Apple Cider Vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar will help whiten your teeth, and there is no need to brush your teeth afterwords. Vinegar works as a great teeth whitening agent.
